My experience with Turkish/Greek coffee differs from Sandy's. I can't
speak for Greece, but in Turkey the no-sugar variety is widely popular. My
crema for no-sugar coffee is a bit thinner than a sugary one, but does not
shame me with Turkish friends. For my money, the ibrik method offers the
most intense coffee flavor available anywhere. I suspect the young Greeks
surveyed by NPR are more faddist than epicurean.
