[Homeroast] Homeroast Digest, Vol 52, Issue 1

     Interesting indeed, but not to be taken too seriously.  For years
after the war, what is lately an "americano" was known throughout
Italy, upscale and down, as a "lungo" -- a long one.  I don't remember
ever being called "Joe" or "GI Joe" when I was one, although I
remember being called various names besides "Americano."
     'Idiota" and "bastardo" stick in my memory
