[Homeroast] Homeroast Digest, Vol 42, Issue 10

I have friends who have bought "shares" of cows and they get a certain amount of raw milk every week.  My co-op carries raw milk cheeses that are made in Ohio and are really yummy, but they have to be aged for a certain amount of time and no soft cheeses are allowed, but the specifics of the law are unknown to me.

There is a process for getting raw milk certified safe. I understand it is

quite expensive and requires a lot of work. Many selling at farmer's

markets skip that technicality. Besides, just because something is not

legal, does not mean that it is not available. But I am sure that you

already knew that.
