The gas that escapes just after roasting is mostly carbon dioxide, which has no aroma. Personally, I'd rather the aromas and flavors stayed in the beans until I grind and brew. But that's just me....

After roasting 10Oz's of bean at a time out of my Hot Top, I package it in a 12 oz valve bag, and seal it. I notice that I don't get much of an aroma, when squeezing the bag, out of the purge valve. Any way to give me more gas from the beans?  Most of my roast are a City to City plus.....Thanks as always!
